What clue was there, if you were going early, to convince you that the #12 would last? He got away with a 50 half but I didn't see that happening. Looks like not many did.

Very unfamiliar with that starting location, is the outside a good position for Early? I couldn't get a read from the PP?
12 went to the lead and controlled the pace with some very soft fractions. I was 2 seconds off (10 lengths) the pace at each call???? Matching on grass is hard! Mike |

We all pretty much were off on the pace. It is hard to close into such a slow pace.

I know it is not good practice to look back and do what you can to make a horse come up and be the winner. Generally I don't but I really feel we missed an opportunity on this one with such a nice price. I miss chalk all the time but hate it when this happens.
I had the 9 as beating the 12 for early. Looking again I think the 12 was actually a lone early. Disregarding fractional times the 12 was just going to the lead anyway. Was there really another early in there? I don't think so. And the 12 had just missed after switching to a turf route last out. We will move on but I think this one was gettable. Pook |

When it comes to Fort Erie, you guys might want to concentrate on "E" types, that track favors front end speed.
