Well there you go! A special horse. Only Secretariat has run a faster Belmont amongst the Triple Crown winners. AP was able to kind of steal it with a 48 half. He was given a gift although with that move in the stretch even after 3 races in 5 weeks I think he is just too good against this years group. Congratulations to American Pharoah and all his connections.

Hey TC, hope you don't melt in AZ. We'll be there in late Sept and Oct for the Arizona Fall league and instructional leagues for MLB.

I was 28 first year on the job after 3 years in the Army and struggling to finish my college education so I didn't pay much attention with the 3 Triple Crowns from 73 to 78. But after 37 years we now have a 3 year Champion and Triple Crown winner. I was beginning to think it would happen again in my lifetime. Almost like the SF Giants going 54 years prior to their 2010 World Series win.
I couldn't be happier for all the old dogs like me, racing in general, the Zayat's, Baffert's and Espinoza's and all associated with this wonderful horse. And in a final time that will quiet the naysayers!! |

Back in a week. Bill L, thanks - enjoy your tournament when you get here. It was such a wonderful day for horse racing. Good riddance to the naysayers. Such an inspiring horse, and I have great respect and happiness for all his human connections. There WAS a way to make money in this race! AP to Win, Frosted to WPS, and an exacta: AP, Frosted over and under (and I added TOV under). Not huge, but it bought dinner tonight Cheers, Ted
