Hard not to like AP in today's match up strictly on paper. He looks like a dominant E/P looking at the paces he's set, or handled from just off, versus what the other horses have done. With that being said, we've seen this before with horses trying for the triple crown. Perhaps winning the first two legs just takes too much out of them to duplicate those efforts in New York, especially given the different dynamics of a mile and a half race. I would like to see him win because I was too young to have remember seeing the last triple crown winner run. However, if he doesn't win I hope I have a nice ticket to cash.

Good luck and enjoy the races today!

3,5,8 Exacta Box.

Triple Crown or do we wait another year???

American Pharoah might be the only true early speed unless Pletcher sends Materiality to give MadefromLucky a fighting chance...but if these two slow the early too slow, it will favor the closers that stay within the early pace. This is a race that I will watch as a horse racing fan. But for the contest, I will go with a #2.#3, and #5 trifecta box..

Good skills

Every entry has been firmly beat by AP. I see the first call in the mid 46's range of which #5 will probably set or be just off #8. I see the #2 and #3 as the only horses competitive against that pace around two turns. I do hope AP does it!

I was lucky enough to see Secretariats' last race at WO. It was I believe 1 5/8 on turf. There was a capable sprinter at the time called Kennedy Road who was entered to be a rabbit. He took the lead in good fractions of which Secretariat shadowed him for well over a mile. They were about 8 lengths in front of the rest of the field all that way. On the backstretch Eddie Maple asked and Big Red then inhaled Kennedy Road and won by seven with the others trying to catch in the stretch. Secretariat had sprinter cruising speed going that marathon distance. The great ones can show you something special when needed. American Pharoah is up against fresh horses. To be a TC champion you have to be special. Maybe he will show us today.

Belmont - Histroy in the making

5-1-6

This is a race to saver, 37 years in the making. As a fan I want AP to win and I will be routing for him with a fine bottle of Scotch. Good luck all!

Try again. 4th slowest Kentucky Derby since 2000. Slowest pace of Preakness since 1948. Certainly most likely to win, but I will play an upset 8-3-6 box perfecta.
