Big Cap analysis using Thoromation

Ok....here is my opinion of the Big Cap..

Ron the Greek...I will evaluate the last paceline but I want to take a look at last year's Big Cap win where he won by default after those ridiculously fast splits of 44 and change for the first 4 furlongs and that power line before last year's Big Cap where he lost to Mucho Macho Man..

Called to Serve--second paceline back...slower track....so fractions seem slower....

Game on Dude--last paceline

I have no interest in any other pacelines...

I will let the program do the matchup...but first I know that Game on Dude will sit off Handsome Mike on the early pace....

One question from a first time poster. Will post position hurt G.O.D.? In 4 out of 6 races from the 5 post or further out he has not looked as strong.

Welcome Don't! It's hard for me to see what overall difference post position makes in a 10f race. Dude breaks most often in 1st - 3rd position, and can win off 2nd or 1st position at the 1st call, so he doesn't have to bust a gut to get to the rail.

But I think he will duel with Handsome Mike through most of 6f and possibly pay a little for that. I have hated betting ON this horse, but it's hard to bet too much against him.

Thee are a few other horses to like, and some prices ...

Ted

My thoughts:

Win 4-8
Exacta 4-8-9

#4 Called to Serve - I can make a case for 3 of it's best 3 recent lines ALL being in the top 2 rank. At the price, he looks like the dark horse, and no reason not to include him.

#8 Stephanoatsee - seems like an honest horse, getting started again this year with a nice 2nd last out versus Guilt Trip in the Strub after a bad start. He can run faster (2nd, 3rd lines).

#9 Game on Dude - no point stopping now to dislike this horse (as a betting proposition ) but it's hard not to include him in an exacta.

#1 Ron the Greek - what has he done for me lately in Graded Stakes?

Good luck everyone!

Bill V...( I got to be aware of the Bills .... )

Thanks Bill....

I just wanted to say that you are the least likely person to "patronize" anyone....I know your intentions ....you are absolutely the most humble person on this board with your knowledge and skillsets, but more importantly with your willingness to teach and to share your knowledge...

Many thanks...

Ted...

Welcome back!!!!!

I hope your trip was a great one and you were able to catch some much needed sun....

Thanks for posting your opinions in this race...Rdss in a major race always gets my attention to study the readouts in depth..

Thanks Bill Lyster and Pete C...

Great calls on Race 3 at Santa Anita as well as this race...

I enjoyed all the different perspective and opinions....This is how one learns to improve....

Pete...

Always knew you are one of the best...Keep it going...

Many thanks to all...next race
