Picking winners is only one part of the equation. Mick said in one of his posts that he was sweeping cards but losing money.

That indicates that his betting philosophy is flawed. I bet Delaware and some years the favorites were winning at 40% plus. I learned to live with it and bet many favorites and put them in exactas.

In this game you need to be flexible and be willing to make adjustments as required.
