With Woodbine coming up soon I will back playing my 20 cent pick 4's.
I said I would give you guys a update so here it is. Took some time off so I didn't play the whole season but hope to do it this year! Mike Last edited by mowens33; 04-01-2019 at 10:08 PM. Reason: update |

Hi Mike
Thanks for sharing When I first opened your report, It did not look too promising, With some long runouts, but upon closer look, you had multiple small tickets. Your average bet was only $7.96 You sure were diligent in your record keeping and you were consistent in your approach. Looking at your report, It verified a point I wanted to post in the "betting Losers" thread, but then I thought better of it. I did not look like you did this but I tend to single favorites and spread in races like maiden claimers and maidens first time on the turf going a route. Anyway Good Skill this season coming up Bill |

Bill, my thought process was to cover as many horses as I could looking for a big ticket which hopefully make up for the losing and short money tickets. But at the same time covering that many horses adds up.
I may change that up this year, if anyone has any thoughts please feel free to comment! As you can see the 13.74% rebate played a big factor on the bottom line, which I factored in when I started this adventure. Regards, Mike |

I agree
Hi Mike
I agree with you if you are thinking about larger tickets First of all, you are getting a great rebate, so the bigger the tickets the more you get. Secondly, if you can single a horse you can spread on contentious races |

A single makes sense as it reduces the extension. Less money bet and bigger profits when hit.
Another way to look at it is you need at least two legs with a decent price($10) or big bomb.Any horse paying as little as $10 now a days greatly increases profit and knocks out many players. We tend to evaluate horses and after our handicapping we need to evaluate the races themselves. What is the likely hood of a price horse in this race? The types of races one day may be favorable and another day not at all ,I guess is what I'm saying. Even if a day isn't favorable it could be for a DD or P3, depending on the race before and after the P4. Your both on the correct path in that a consistent procedure to betting's is as important as picking the horses themselves. Wishing you guys great success with these. Mitch44 |
