Ted,
need the formula for FW, for a small project of mine. I'm sure I can find it, but at my age everything seems to move at slow motion, so, what a better way to go the source of it.
Thanks,
Pino

Pino,

FW is a moving target. At the time of Follow Up #11 (late '80s) it was indeed defined as follows:

Name: fw.gif
Views: 1209
Size: 17.4 KB

This translates to 3/4 of EPR (2nd call velocity) + 1/4 of F3 velocity.

Not sure when, but Sartin updated this at some point. From at least Validator onwards (likely sooner), FW is - Sprints: 2/3 of EPR + 1/3 of F3 and Routes: 1/3 of EPR + 2/3 of F3

I'm using consistent terms EPR and F3 from the old Phase III and the newer stuff, but there are variations in how you choose to calculate EPR and F3 (or LPR) to plug into the above formulas. But going by simple velocity measures of fps to the 2nd call = EPR and fps during Fraction 3 = F3 should work well for you. Choose which FW formula suits you best.

Good luck with your project!

And thanks Charlie!

Ted

Does "sprint" and "route" refer to the line or today's race?
