Howdy from an old-timer

Howdy,

i just discovered this board.

i was heavily involved in handicapping and the Sartin Methodology back in the 80's. Not so much in recent years, tho i may be getting re-kindled.

Back in the day, i attended several seminars. I met Dr. Sartin, Bob Purdy, Tom Brohamer, Jim the Hat and a few others of note. For a while, i was apparently one of a few Northern California handicappers doing well at the local tracks, and would occasionally be asked to take someone under my wing.

When Bob was writing Synergism, i begged him to add a save/load to floppy option, to save typing. While Bob was a master at the handicapping algorithms, he wasn't comfortable with disk i/o routines. To make a long story short, i ended up adding the original disk save/load routines to Synergism. Bob later acknowledged my contribution publicly, and, to this day, i am quite proud of that.

After all these years, i am happy to see that the Methodology lives on. It's like an early Christmas present

cheers,
Dennis

Dennis,

Your name rings a bell. Did you develop or write Plus V software?
