Kentucky Derby RDSS File Availability
Goes anyone know what time the post position's for the Derby will be drawn? Will they be televised and what network will they be on? Also, will the RDSS pp's be available any earlier than Thursday after noon?
Thanks again to all your kind folks! Papa John |

Hi Guys, how do you use the rdss software on a sloppy/off track? Do you just use the best paceline, class, distance like you would normally do? Looks like the Oaks will be over a sloppy racetrack. Thanks

I rarely look at the track condition of the paceline. However, I do want to know today's weather conditions, and in this case, for example if a horse ALWAYS quits on wet tracks when behind (i.e. doesn't like mud in the face) - and that horse looks to run behind others today, I use that info advantageously if I can.
On a wet track today, aside from the above, the surface (whether faster or slower due to today's extra moisture) exerts the SAME effect on all horses, so that cancels out its effect. Often enough, the horses just run their race regardless of surface wetness, so it behooves us to know what that race might be, relative to the other horses. IMO. Ted

Friday's Oaks card for Churchill Downs is available for RDSS now. Still waiting on Saturday's Derby Card.

Form Cycle + 0 (+)
Hi I will use an off track if there is no other fast track to rate within the current form cycle, I just look at all the + or (+) lines for the horse and check the ratings of EPR LPR and TPR If the ratings are comparable to the off track and the DTV is not too high or low I will use it.
