Kentucky Downs Concludes Record-Shattering Meet
www.paulickreport.com/news/the-biz/kentucky-downs-concludes-record-shattering-meet-sources-wagering-totals-30-million/
Living in Nashville, I'm only 30 miles away from Kentucky Downs and have many stories and fond memories. With slots in the building, the purses have grown significantly and now this odd, pear-shaped little track in Franklin, Kentucky attracts some of the best turf horses, trainers and jockeys in the country. I had just returned from the RDSS gathering at Saratoga and it was surprising to see all these Saratoga shippers. I don't recall a Chad Brown entry, but everyone else was here. |

Mick to me it is by far the best turf racing in the country!
The Euro styled courses, full fields and lush real grass(not the paved highway crap that most tracks call turf today) are a treat. I play every year here since the early days with Bill V at the Meadowlands and am REALLY sad the meet is ended.

Grass up to the horses bely
RICHIE used to make me laugh so hard when he was betting Kentucky Downs
THE very deep grass course , the old rickety starting gate and. The turns and hills, RICHIE had me rolling on the floor laughing as he called the races Last edited by Bill V.; 09-15-2017 at 05:42 PM. |

I was so impressed with KD, this year also. Looks so very nice there ... real country atmosphere and beautiful Kentucky landscape, and really good purses and horses.
I think I have to go there next year. I visit a friend once a year near Bardstown, (in the Abbey) ... maybe I won't mention I'm also there to race. Louisville is a really nice terminal to navigate, and easy to get a car in. Last edited by Dorianmode; 09-17-2017 at 10:22 PM. |
