Amazing.
I just post to Rverge and see I have a PM from one of the "Matchup guys". Here is the PM: Code:
103.2 horse Match Up Hi Richie Projected Pace off #1's Line 7 22.9 - 47.1 Match Up and you should end up with #4 and #10 #2 slow - Out #4 in #5 slow/orrible - Out #6 in #7 in #8 slow -Out #10 In 2c #6 and #7 are slower than #4 and #10 #6 and #7 OUT Two horse bettor has race sorted, however If #4 runs as Line 2 he has the positional advantage -forget #10 It's goodbye #10 One horse bettor is collecting |

No, now I read it twice. NOW I'm starving!!! Hope you guys are happy now. Doggone chefs. Everytime I listen to a chef on a cooking show on the radio, I sometimes have to turn it off, making me so darn hungry. They must teach you guys marketing, describing in detail how its prepared and cooked with terms like : serve when piping hot, lemon zest, medium browning on one side, roasted, slightly fluff, all that doggone delicious food. Once these terms get inside your head, that's ALL you can think about. I'm convinced Madison Avenue marketers came up with these terms, hypnotizing people with these words and visuals. I mean, come on, what does PIPING have to do with HOT, or FLUFF have to do with rice?....rice is either ready or its not. Conspiracy. Now, all I can think about is something sautee'ing in olive oil and butter, sizzling in medium heat in a cast iron skillet. Why chefs aren't millionaires, I'll never know. Talkin about all this darn good food. I'm getting my keys right now. You guys are are killin me, man, real diet killers. VoodooFan |

Using Entropy with Rac file sent from RDSS
First contender selection I use a method Doc writes about using the Beyer number and the SR + TV from the racing form I modified it to use the best of the last three best Doc/Trackmaster speed rating from the adjusted screen and the coresponding net speed rating from trackmaster I take the top 5 of these numbers It looks something like this Code:
Doc TM NET 1. 77 - 1 87 -1 = 1.0 2. 75 - 3 75 -3 = 3.0 3. 4. 76 - 2 82 -2 = 2.0 5. 66 - 6 48 -8 = 7.0 6. 77 - 1 75 - 5 = 3.0 7, 68 - 5 53 -7 = 6.0 8 70 - 4 61 -6 = 5.0 10. 77 - 1 81 -4 = 5.0 speedrating system are the 1 2 4 6 an 10 I sent these lines to Entropy without going through all the screens here is the final DVC sort screen I take the best 4 -Lowest total line score plus the # 1 EP/dv rated horse and send these to EXDC/thoromation I eliminate the worst total # 6 The total energy warning ask for the 2 adjust Since I made these horses my final contenders from entropy I say yes to the two adjust The winner is clearly gettable in 3rd position Docs guidelines for Entropy users and any client when your # 3 horse is going off at big odds bet it with a seperate bank roll Thanks Lemon and the the SP screen on thoromation preplay comes up first |

1) are you sending the races over adjusted or raw? 2) could you lay out your sr/cont method again?I got a bit confused (which isn't hard to do!) Thanks "The Lime" |

method
Hello Rich
First let me say I am doing so much better seeing the race match up in the entropy figures since I have read all your work in the Hat check area I doubt I ever will be handicapping without my computer so I focus on what you teach and use it to my advantage while using my program - Entropy To answer your first question Yes I send my lines RAW from RDSS when using Entropy but I found it better to send Adjusted lines in other Sartin programs The reason I prefer to use raw numbers is Entropy is a very strong program to get races down to ideally 4 contenders The various readouts are all measures of velocity and deceleration relative to the dream race here is a little paragraph I really like from the Chaos manual (SEE SCREEN SHOT #1) Entropy does not ask or warn of a need for a 2 adjust rather the user gets the option to use the 1 2 or 3 adjust I use raw numbers but then always use the 3 adjust in using the 3 adjust The program gives you the adjustment number it will give to each horse. The slower the horse the bigger this number will be. The fastest horse in the race more times than not will get a minus number Seeing these numbers from the raw lines sent by RDSS is truly helping me to keep in fast horses that run fast well . Which leads me to your next question I use a modified method of a way Doc Sartin suggested to clients during the entropy phase of the methodology This method was (at first) -to take the top 2 Beyer numbers from the DRF in the last 3 or 4 if needed pacelines then also take the top 2 DRF speed ratings and TV added together and devided The top 5 horses were the contenders , Doc later changed it to taking the best DRF+TV and the same lines Beyer number and averaging the rank of the two numbers again taking the top 5 to entropy or what ever program I saw the benift of this method in my use of the RDSS adjusted Speed Rating taking the best speed rating of the last 3 races has worked well for me But I wanted to see if the horse was fast or was he adjusted fast So since the only past performance lines I see are from RDSS I figured the Adjusted Speed figures would be like the beyer numbers and the Net Trackmaster lines + or Minus TV would be like the old DRF + TV speed ratings I take the best what I call DOC numbers maybe I sould call them Sartin Nuumbers and rank the highest # 1 then down to the lowest I do the same with the Trackmaster net speed rating and rank them Now here is were I see adjusted slow horses because the the two rankings very often do not match for example a horse might have a 77 Sartin speed rating and be # 1 but the Trackmaster net speed rating is 59 and its ranked 5th this to me is a slow horse adjusted to be fast anyway the best thing might be to give you a example This is from todays first race at AQU inner I have highlighted in blue the lines I used for the first few horse from race 1 look at each horses paceline I have used shaded in blue first lets list the Sartin speed ratings horse 1 84 horse 1a 77 horse 2 80 horse 4 78 horse 1 is the highest speed rating so its rated 1 horse 1a is the lowest so its rated 4th horse 2 is next highest so its rated 2nd horse 4 is 3rd I do the samething for the Trackmaster net speed ratings horse 1 86 third horse 1a 87 second horse 2 90 first horse 4 80 4th Now I add the rankings for each horses 2 types of speed ratings together and average the total it makes for a closer easy to see listing but I guess the total works to Example Horse 1 84 1 + 86 1 = 1 + 3 = 4/2 = 2.0 Horse 1a 77 4 + 87 2 = 4 + 2 = 6/2 = 3.0 Horse 2 80 2 + 90 1 = 2 + 1 = 3/2 =1.5 Horse 4 78 3 + 80 3 = 3 + 4 = 7/2 =3.5 Now this is a small sample when you do the whole field the slow horses become very clear and the numbers spead out. I take the 5 lowest total horses and send the raw lines to entropy Hope thats clear Lemon Last edited by Lemon; 12-03-2008 at 05:21 PM. |
