Thanks

Thanks Ted and Pook for your responses.
Pook in answer to your question I am still unsure because:
1) If I spend 30.00 on a .50 P-4 that pays 600.00 I get credit for 30.00.
2) but for the same 30.00 bet at 14/1 conley gets the full 450.00 put in his account.
Seems pretty unfair to me for each of us betting the same amount on ONE bet

Do you see my point.
Thanks Rmath

A further example:

The Daily Double cap is $60 per $2 wagered.

Most DD's payout at $1
With a $60 payout for $2 the maximum you will get for a $1 DD is $30

Say you were really confident in a particular DD and you bet the maximum for a day of $100 in one daily double over two combinations. You played a $50 bet 1,2 over 3 which is $100. If the double payed out at $22.50 for $1 you would get a return of $22.50 x 50 = $1125.00. If it payed $30 for $1 you would get $30.00 x 50 = $1500.00. If it payed $80 for $1 you would get $30.00 x 50 = $1500. (which is the cap of $60 per $2 wagered)

Hope maybe this explains it better,

Pook

Thanks

Pook, since you are sponsoring Conley, I would be willing to join in if I could find a sponsor also.

I do see your point. I did state earlier that this cap format does not favour exotics. I was at one time thinking no caps, but we have to prevent huge exotic runaways because that is unfair to straight bettors.

If you think this is unfair to exotic players, at what point does it become fair?

No problem. Not me though. I am only sponsoring one player.

Since I only play P-3-4-5- 6s and most tracks the cost is .50 min.
I would set them minimums at
P-3 400.00
P-4 750.00
P-5 1000.00
The p-6 is a .20 bet and a risky one at most. I only play this bet on mandatory payout days , a minimum3000.00
Richard
Ps: I believe that the greater the risk the greater the rewards.

Pook you say this contest is to reward for consistency
and not LUCK.
Do you think it is easier to pick one winner or 3 or 4 in a row?

I am not trying to rock the boat, just asking for equal treatment for the way I play.

Okay some further thought has been put into this. We wanted all bets, but that is going to be too complicated. There are too many different minimum bets for the extreme exotics. They are the ones causing the problem so screw the extreme exotics.

There will be 9 available bets as follows:
WIN, PLACE, SHOW, EXACTOR, TRIACTOR, DAILY DOUBLE, PK3, PK4, and PK5. This allows plenty of freedom and latitude.

The maximum payouts per straight wagers, the same as before, as follows:
WIN $30 for a $2 Bet
PLACE $15 for a $2 Bet
SHOW $7 for a $2 Bet

Semi-exotic maximums the same but for $1 Bet as follows:
EXACTOR $60 for a $1 Bet
DAILY DOUBLE $60 for a $1 Bet
TRIACTOR $90 for a $1 Bet

Exotic maximums increased along with adjusting to 50¢ Bets as follows:
PICK3 $250 for a 50¢ Bet
PICK4 $500 for a 50¢ Bet
PICK5 $750 for a 50¢ Bet

This evens the playing field more. I admitted that the previous maximums made playing exotics next to useless. I think this helps and does not unduly hurt straight bettors.

I hope everyone is good with this,
Pook
