Posting Races
I would like to post some helpful notes
and also go a little more into the whys and of hows the judgement of a miss posted race could be avoided. Races that are not posted correctly will be scored as a loss With a little more care Ted and I are hoping this will not be an issue again Ted and I set the Learn To Win Contest with a vital goal: That each race posted will be of some value to everyone. The value of your post is the screenshot How can you do better and help yourself and everyone else ? Lets get started First helpful hint Your Screenshot is the key to your selection The screen shot shows your pacelines, your opinion on contenders and from those two pieces of a puzzle you and others can see how RDSS sorts those elements into a final rating method The contest loses it effective quality without the screen shots Here is and example of what I mean Lets say we see a post like this Saratoga Race 8 Posted at 4.00Pm $60 win # 4 $40 win # 7 Monmouth # 9 Posted at 4:10 PM 60 win # 4 40 win # 7 Results race 8 Posted at 4:11 pm Lost DMR race 1 posted at 4:15 $50 W/P 4 Results Mth (maybe a results screen shot) #7 wins pays $7.00 we see your screen shot but the 7 is rated 5th with very few 1 or 2 rankings in any readouts Why did you pick the 7? we will never know because NOW its 4:20 and you have posted Saratoga race 10 $50 win # 4 $25 win/place # 7 Maybe we would be interested in why you usually bet win only and now this race you bet w/p anyway rushing by, posting races one right after another with no more info than just your pick does not give us a indication of your ability. If your good we would like to see how you win. If you struggle we can analyze and offer help but if you just go with volume and hope to catch a price you will end up about average at best. Some might disagree with this point but Im pushing my chips all in on this bet , That is .... the winners are the ones who are very patient and selective and work carefully . Next Please post you selections carefully Just like if you were at the track and you walked up to the teller window with your $100 bill You need to make your bet clearly so the teller punches the correct numbers You need to check your ticket before you leave the window If you have time just like at the track if you realize you have made a mistake cancel or change the bet but once the race goes off Its too late I suggest you use the preview post button Make your selections and if you have a screen shot add it. then before you hit submit post use the preview post option you will be able to double check if your words and screens are correct. Remember if you post race 3 but your screen says race 4, I will score your race based on the results of your screen shot Some questions What happens if you post a race with no screen shot and your horse wins the race, after the race you want to make sure you add a screen shot before 12:00 noon East ern Time, the next day,but you make a mistake and you post the wrong screen shot ? Is this now scored a loss ? Answer is No I would score the race as a win The reason is the race is over you posted a correct selection. there was no doubt who you wanted in the race In this case I and Ted and anybody can come back and say Hey so and so make sure you post the correct screen shot before 12.00 The problem of people posting mismatched races and screen shots Is it opens the door to question the ethis of the contest In yesterdays case both the selections and the sceeen shot both identified the 3 and the 7 horse so a loop hole could develope were if horse 3 and 7 won either races then the poster could claim a win in either race Miss matched races and screen shots has happend 4 times since the contest began in June. In 2 case the person's lost the race anyway, in one case I saw it before hand and had time to have the poster fix it in the other case the race was scored as a loss just like yesterday Again if you post your selections for 1 race but you post the screen shot for another race in the same post your score is based on the screenshot race. If you post just a selection and you win the race but then after the race was run you make a mistake and post the wrong screen shot you will not be given a loss as long as you post the correct screen before 12 the next day This might be confusing but the best advice/ answer is don't let any of this happen Work carefully , Post only races that you have a strong opinion on, Use the preview post option and CHECK YOUR TICKETS before you leave the window have fun work carefully and win GS Bill Last edited by Bill V.; 08-07-2012 at 11:42 AM.
