Alright, here we go and we kick off the 2012 Del Mar meet, one of the few bright spots in horse racing during the year. Great fan attendance and rich purse structures for the horsemen.

#6 It's Candy Time has three lines that are better than the field, so the question is who will run second as the others who have shown any route races are inferior. Normally, these type of races, most maidens haven't shown their true route ability yet, so it is like throwing a dart into the wind, but hey...it is the first race of the new meet...so let's give it a try...

Only Hanserella and Sing and Swing are the two who might figure in the final outcome besides Its Candy Time...Hanserella race well in a 5.5 furlong sprint at SA 3rd line back and ran close to some quick fractions of 21.3 and 44.4 in his second race back... Sing and Swing is a turf horse but should do well on the Del Mar polytrack..

Looking forward to the new season of racing at Del Mar...

Good Skills

My RDSS readout looks identical to Ted's. No surprise there! Just a word of caution....the win rate of the favorite in the first race on Opening Day at DMR is dismal

6 and 4

Im looking at the 6 and 4 ( and the ladys ) but the odds look low
Maybe one of these ladys with 6 foot hats on can help me choose

At 4 MTP, I like the 4 and 2 in the Win position

Hope you don't mind me putting this race up. The upcoming 3rd at Del Mar where the crowd looks like it cannot decide on a favorite. My kinda race. I'm playing 1 and 3 to win and boxing 1-3-8 in exacta if the odds hold up.

What I do is start with auto paceline 2 (best perceptor, etc.), review the lines, then after checking the analysis for all horses I hide horses that do not have at least a 3 in a corollary or are not in top 2 netpace. Some races I hide several, some I hide none. The reason I do it this way is I like to look at all horses that may have a significant impact on the pace, especially for exotic purposes. Good luck to us should you join me.

Jim, I went with the #1 and #4 (instead of the #3) in our COntest and $$$ (and the #1 in the PA Contest.)

I just didn't trust the truth of the performance of the #3 on those lower level tracks ...

1 lost a couple of lengths taking a misstep around the far turn that could have cost him the win there.
