Doc Always Said There Was Gold In Small Fields

OK, here's one from today. I wasn't even going to cap today but I noticed the speed ratings were fairly even and the ML on a couple of these looked good.

Pace line selections were fairly straightforward - last line on the 1,3,5,6. I probably could have gone back one on the 6 to his mdn race based on the poor start from an inside post last time. I went with the better speed rating.

Went 2nd line back on the 2 and went back 6 on the 4 to that 9f turf race. He had identical speed ratings in his 2 turf races but I don't think I should have gone back on this guy.

In any case since the pace line speed ratings were all in the 80's, I used the 2 adjust to get everyone on an equal footing energy wise. Note that the 2 had the best total energy raw.

I will put up some 2 adjust screens but keep in mind that the auto adjust came up with the same horses under a "sustained" variegate, just in slightly different order.

Based on post time odds, I bet the 2 and 4 to win and put them up over the field in the exacta. I then went back with the 1 over everyone but the 6. There was no value in the 1 or 6.

Even with some potential pace line mistakes on my side, the 2 pressed the 3 and 5 and then held off the 6 at the wire.

Very happy with the win and exacta prices.

Here's the result. Notice the line scores on the 2 as it relates to the "presser" variegate (nice EP,PR,SP,FX) and the fact he was the zero muv horse. I was actually going to leave the 6 out of my exacta but he was #2 LX and he was the favorite, so I included him. Maybe that line 2 back would have made him look like a favorite on the readouts.

If I can help, let me know.
