6 to 6.5 Adjustment

You could also add 6.2 seconds to the time of your 6 furlong horses. Jim Bradshaw covered this on page 110 of the Match-Up 2 book. I don't have the book in front of me so I am not sure about the page. Jim Bradshaw covered other ways to make this adjutment in the book.

Richie if I am not mistaken you told us something similiar in one of your posts also.

Total energy is MUCH MORE important in routes than sprints...Much More important as total to 2nd call in the sprints is often telling you of improving speed that has not quite come to form.

Richie and Mike,Thanks for the suggestions.

Tim;Thanks for the general advice

The reason I was asking this was I either read or heard on one of the tapes that you shouldnt enter a 6.5 fur race into a 6 fur or it might have been the other way around.Jeff

Total Energy Example

Made up a race with the distance of 6.5 furlongs. Ran these pacelines through the ENGEN in Enegry for comparison.
A65 is a horse with 6.5 furlong distance
B6 6 furlong
B65 used 6 furlong time of B6 with same fractions and same BL’s and added 6.2 as Jim Bradshaw recommended in his Match Up 2 book. (6.2 for each half furlong)
Same process for C6 &C656 and D6 and D656.

Jim Bradshaw knew what he was talking about. The Total Energy is close enough for me when you compare the 6 furlong times and adding 6.2 to make it a 6.5 furlong time. If you run this through Energy you see even less difference in many of the readouts. Remember I am just trying to compare the B6 to B65 and so forth.

Check out the Engen Screenshot.

I have another inquiry when you use the automatic projector if the horses have different lines what affect if any does that have on the Total Energy.Jeff

Auto Project

Jeff the following screenshots should help using the same pacelines as in the Energy example. I am using the Kinetic Generator in THOROMATION so you can see the race not projected and auto projected.

The first 2 screenshots are not projected. The last 2 are projected to 6.5 furlongs. The Kinetic generator shows no difference in TE between not projected and projected. Jeff you will also notice TE is the same for the ENGEN as in the Kinetic Generator. I just used the same file I created in Energy and copied it over to the 4 call THOROMATION program. You can do this with similiar distance structures, but you will have problems with comparing 8.5 to 9 furlong lines because of the 3 calls that Energy uses is different than the 4 calls that THOROMATION uses.
