adjustment question
Hi Ted,When using RDSS and the adjusted times does it take into account the track variant and the beaten lengths.
Example A 22.0 1ST TV9 B 21.3 2ND BY 2 LENGTHS TV 12 Thanks Jeff |

Jeff,
Yes, the track variant supplied by TrackMaster is apportioned over the final, the 2nd call and the 1st call Pace of Race times according to the DTV setting in the Configure window (default 50% of the DTV). Thus, for example, 50% of the DTV is applied to the final POR time, a fraction of that 50% is applied at the 2nd call and a lesser fraction of that 50% is applied at the 1st POR call time. Positive DTV means the track was slower than par that day - negative means faster than par. 0 DTV means about par. Each DTV point represents a number of fractional seconds (which unit value varies by the distance of the paceline). So, positive DTVs speed the POR times up, negative values slow the POR times down. Beaten lengths are applied to adjusted POR times to derive velocities, then compound values. You use the compound values in aggregate readouts like VDC or BLBL, or in progressions or comparisons such as shown on the Segments Match Up CBL screen, or E/L screen. Hope that helps, Ted

Ted,Thanks for the reply as I keep wondering if it's better to use raw or adjusted data.Jeff

Jeff,
If you want to approach race analysis and wagercapping the way Doc taught it, then absolutely - adjusted. That is the main reason to be using RDSS for race analysis. Ted
