the "B" screen
Bottom line betting line screen with corrolaries shown
SUPP- Supplementary corrolaries are : SPN - Sartin Pace number TOT - Total Energy ENT - Entropy or rate of deceleration TS - True Speed TPP - Total Pace Potential FRAC - E-L-N these are Fractals Gary and for the life of me I cant explain them. lol Binder knows this VERY well so hopefully he can chime in as Doc showed him personally what the heck these things are SCBL - second call beaten lenghts - this projects how far behind at the 2c a horse will be based on today's VELOCITY matchup of the pacelines used. This is velocity based NOT positional ok? Hope this helps Richie |

My sincere gratitude for wonderful answers, especially from Richie.
I have at least one remaining question. In screen "B" what does "LSP" mean and what are fractals? Thank you! Gary |

To All:
Can anyone tell me what "Pre" means as an ESP designation? Thank you. Gary |

Richie:
Thank you! I can't believe that I didn't think of that. I kept thinking it was some kind of super early because of some of the numbers I was getting. Gary |

The ESP labels are EAR - Early E/P - Early Presser PRE - Presser S/P - Sustained Presser SUS - Sustained LAT - Late Thus, a horse with %Med of 70, for example, disburses 70% of its total energy in the 1st 2 fractions and is designated Early. At the other end of the scale, a horse expending only 66% of it energy in the 1st 2 fractions is designated Late (i.e. 33% is available in the remaining fraction). A Presser would be somewhere in the middle of that. As the labels imply, a Late horse has more energy left to disburse in the 3rd fraction than an Early horse, who had disbursed its energy rather earlier and has less left for later... Again, these are energy disbursement styles, not positional running styles. You can see horses who like to run up front (if they can) but whose typical energy disbursement style does not necessary run Early. I'd advise spending some time looking at the F4 Energy screen of the Past Performances and drawing some corelations between the ESP column and the %Med column. By doing this for just 1 race, you'll gain a feel of what ranges of %Med corespond to what ESP labels. Hope this helps, Ted

Dear Ted:
Thank you so much! I see what you mean by the correlation on the F4 screen. Gary |
