Thanks for the lovely reminder Marianna! I remember one year I called Howard on his birthday and he seemed truly surprised and grateful that I should remember. We talked for an hour.
Time to raise a toast tonight to the 'founder of the feast' so to speak. Fond memories, and appreciation for the tools and education still bringing pleasure and profits to many folks. Best wishes to your family. yours, Ted

I've been listening to Las Vegas 1993 for the past week, so Doc and Jim are still alive and energetic to me. I did get to meet both in the early 90's and was out to Beaumont a couple of times. Some fun banter between Howard, Jim, Brohamer, and Spencer Toner. I believe Doc had just turned 67 and was kidding around about winning a race by playing a blind 6-7 exacta box. Brohamer was just shaking his head about 20 years of teaching going down the drain! You could tell these guys really liked each other.
Vegas 1992 will be next on the "listen while commuting" agenda. I can guarantee that I'm probably the only guy walking around midtown Manhattan with Doc and friends playing on the headphones! |

A Happy Birthday to him Marianna. I raise my glass to him and to you and to your whole family. I wish I could have met him personally, but feel I know him through you, Ted and Bill and through listening to and reading all of his material and stories told by those of you who have.
All the best you Barb

Happy Birthday Doc
Some of my best times have been at the seminars that Doc Sartin hosted. He gave me hope and inspiration in handicapping and life also. Not only did he offer unique programs for Pace Analysis but also he stressed the Psychological aspects which he knew was just as important as the numbers.
Happy Birthday Doc and thanks for all you have given us. |
