The review of the single day posted above is the same type information I found so I asked myself: WHY bet a simple exacta with ROI like they are, when you simply coordinate it with the randomness of the rest of the field and potentially a much larger ROI?

Find TWO KEYS, one the best of the earlies, and ONE the best of the lates. Those logical contenders are then matched up as the top two finishers in a TOPZACTA of a SPLITZACTA..I generally find THREE earlies and TWO lates in sprints and the opposite in routes, then decide which will be keys.

I'll put some for tomorrow and see how they play out.
Caveats:
1) you need a healthy bankroll and in fields of 10 or more, you sometimes have to remove the near impossible horses to make it easier on the bankroll.
2) you have to WAIT until late in the betting to see if the odds on these keys make a wager worthwhile (almost the same way as you would do with ANY wager)
3) stay away from any field of, most fields of 6 or fields that have little information for all entrants (fields of many maidens especially TURF maidens) but then EVEN WITH all the information for fields of turf it works better on the main track.
4) works far less on ultra short sprints, races above 9.0 furlongs, or off the turf contests.
5) since the super is never reported early you will be surprised often. THIS IS GAMBLING and often you will win the bet, but lose money. That however is made up by the HUGE ones that come along now and again.
6) some tracks it hits regularly, others hardly ever. One has to keep meticulous records to know how your play works at what oval.
7) have an ancillary handicapping method (more the better) to back up what are the best representatives to be KEYS. Cannot stress this enough for this angle will not rest on a single sample error evaluation.

Quote: Also, Sartin said that picking Place horses is not the same as picking win horses. I think that obviously can be extended to the other vertical positions.

Yes in reading his 55% solution study I had it ingrained into me (out of frustration of getting splitzacta after splitzacta) that I would use that knowledge in producing coattails.

LOGIC hooked to randomness is what this angle is: grounded in logic.

Tdn 1st 3 4 1a 5 top early with 2nd late, or a splitzacta to earlies

ODDS on the favorite would have negated a wager but still $159.50 for a dollar

Tdn 2nd Horses out of gate to re-load, AUTOMATIC Cancel I found over the years as a gate camera at Hastings, once they get "worked up" with a LONG gate time, the form goes out the window
