Have you guys watched the secret yet. It's about the law of attraction.
One of the guys on here is Joe Vitale. He has an interesting website with some articles, and he has written many books. Bill Harris is another worth searching.

One of the major factors keeping people from succeeding in any endeavor are limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are in our subconcious and are spawned by events and influences from childhood on.

Some good sources of info to research this area can be found by googling:
Dr Brett Steenbarger, Dr. Janice Dorn, Robin Dayne, and Mark Cunningham of Trucor.com. Most of their sites have some free stuff.

The first three are stock/commodity trading coaches. The field is exactly parallel to handicapping for a living, so the info these people offer is pertinent here.

Mark Cunningham is a hypnotherapist who teaches hypnotherapists. He is highly regarded for his research and work in altering the individuals belief system for personal goal achievement.

This is a link of Dr. Steenbarger talking about who becomes successful and why, while comparing "natural talent" and "prodigy's" against personal experience in the development of skill. He references pro athletes and musicians, etc.

This relates to the "True Financial Security" thread as it directly relates to members comments in that thread about what it takes to become a successful pro.

When you listen, substitute the words handicapper for trader(s) and horse racing for markets.

The % of successful traders is almost identical to the % of successful handicappers.
