"One Rating Does Not Make A Contender" from as far back as you care to read or listen. One hit wonders as they were described are just that.

Thanks trotman

Its not always this easy but it is so important to look for a confirming pace line.

Here is a winning horse

Here is one of my July contest selections that won
This horse won Race 9 at Saratoga on 7/21
It paid $8.50 I picked this horse for this sample because when I used to send
Doc race results he always asked for races were the winner paid $9.00 or more
so I'm close with this one, just off a few cents.

# 2 Shrewd One is a consistant horse. It only has 3 wins but 8 places and he
almost always runs a Plus race.

I have marked my plus's on both the pp's and the TPR/Early Late readouts
I used line 1 for this horse Its a very good line , The thing that makes this horse
a good contender is I have a few other good pacelines that confirm line 1
In almost all its plus races, notice how similar its running pattern on the E/L
is. Notice all the plus races are clustered near the center line the exceptions are race 4 at GP and the two races at Belmont in October, one of which was on the turf
When I see a horse in the top 3 BLBL with good odds and these kind of
confirmation pacelines I know I have a good contender

Bill nice job and that was a perfect example of multiple factors putting you on a solid contender. Add to this when the horse matches up well with the track profile and I call them giggle races, that is your giggling all the way to the windows.
