Update: Results
I know have 240 races in my testing of the RX3 factor (which uses Profit Line ratings to obtain these ratings.)
These races range from 5.5f- 8.5f non maiden, dirt races with 8 or more betting interests I used the best of last 3 pacelines with no changes. My goal was to simply see how well this rating would do in getting the winner in the top 5 and how often the exacta was in the top 5 RX3 rating. Wins: RX3: 1)67 2) 51 3) 47 4) 36 5)20 Total: 221 .92 wins Exactas: 180 .75 37 of these exactas involved the # 5 RX3 horse ( 15% ) of the total. Only 6 of the 37 were 4-5s (this is only 2.5% of the exactas) I made no judgements at all in this study. While I do not recommend using only the RX factor as a stand alone factor , it is a simple & easy way to get a starting point for the main contenders in a playable race. I believe Ted has done a great job on these improvements and I would like to thank him for allowing me to be one of the testers. Good skill to all. Rmath |
