Time for Doc's biography?
A great biographical interviewer with a video camera and recordings should be looked at, that would be interesting.
Doc's life and story should be told, and I'll bet he's got enough for a minimum 300 page book. His wife and son should contribute to the stories ,also. A historical testimony in print/video of Doc's beginnings to how he, in a major way, contributed tremendously to the industry of Handicapping and Para-Mutual Investing. Don't hold your breath and wait for the "mainstream" crowd to do it.....and "IF" they did, they would NOT do it justice, just throw together some crap , haphazzardly. Because to promote and truely recognize Doc"s work, would mean the stuff he assessed about the mainstream would be relevant, or at least, bear some meritous deductions and study. Sort of like the way the scientific community did Nikola Tesla. Can't do that, lose followers, and status, now can they (steven c crowd)???? At least in their minds, that perception of loss could possibly happen. If everyone had that attitude, no information or scientific advancement would ever get out, for percieved fear of loss. "A great biographical interviewer with a video camera and recordings should be looked at, that would be interesting."
Not only "interesting" but HISTORICAL. This is way OVERDUE! Someone, somewhere, please arrange for this while Howard Sartin is still with us!! Doc Sartin's contributions to horse race handicapping is GARGANTUAN and MONUMENTAL and LEGENDARY--to put it mildly. To state that horse race handicapping would not be the same today had it not been for enormous contributions of The Sartin Methodology (and its numerous 'borrowers') is an understatement. Please someone, make it happen! Best regards, Jon

Looking at Richies video test, he does a very good imitation of the icon. Had he met him, no doubt he could imitate him and his mannerisms, probably to scary accuracy, working with him so close and intensely. VoodooFan |
