Table Magic

Upstairs in the clubhouse at the Meadowlands
Rich and a few others know where I mean, Is a table.

Today was just another great moment there
After doing really nothing all day at Delaware and Philly and Monmouth

It all came down to one race, It was race 9 at Delaware

I did all my pace line and calculations ahead of time and just wrote
down
my top two picks on a sheet of paper.
My picks for race 9 were the 7 and 10

At the table today was my Dad and my friend GH John

John catches the # 3 horse in race 8 at delaware @ 8/1
He has it also in the double with the 4 and 5 in race 9

After talking to GH about the DD payouts I tell him I come up with the
7 and 10 the 7 is 20 /1 and the 10 is 25/1

Did you bet them? yes
I make my two win bets on the 7 and the 10

Just as there getting in the gate I figure If I dont win I want
GH to win the double, So I am about to bet the 7 and 10
to place, Something hits me out of nowhere
I get the idea to bet Johns 4 and 5 over my 7 and 10 in the exacta

The race goes off the 5 and 2 are battling for the lead but the 7 is
just behind them He looks angry, He is mad, Its hot and he wants to
win!!!

The 2 packs it in, Now GH John and I are sure of good fortune
Its going to be 5 7 or 7 5 but oh no!!! The 5 just draws off "vinnie
DRAW!!!"
The seven is fading and others are coming.. GH John has the double
easy.
But as the camera focused on the 5 romping to the easy win. I still
think maybe the seven will hang on? After the 5 wins we a waiting to see
if the 7 held on for place. If so I have the exacta
A big patch of horses cross the line together Who is it ????
Was it the 7 ? No guess who? The 10 !!! I totaley forgot about the 10
What a nice treat. DD for John and the exacta 5 /10 for me The 10 was
29/1!!!
