RDSS Version 0.99.0 Bugs/Problems go here

This thread is to report any problems with the recent RDSS update Version 0.99.0 (see the Release Notes here: http://www.sartinmethodology.com/rds...ase_notes_0990).

You need this update to work with Oak Tree at Hollywood Park (OTH) races.

If you're having trouble opening up multiple copies of RDSS, please first read the previous discussion and tips about that here: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6290

Remember, in an emergency, you can always re-download and re-install the previous version (V 0.98.8) from the Download Area.

I tried to install the update 0.99.0 but kept getting a locked file detected and could not get past it
Make sure RDSS is not running, then try the install again. If the problem persists, reboot your computer then try the install before you do any thing else. Some other program (typically RDSS itself) is using the file reported as 'blocked' by the installer.

Follow up: closing RDSS during the install seems to have done the trick

OK, computer retard here. I'm stuck in an endless loop of installs. Shortcut now runs installation procedure over and over, as well as in my C directory, all the .exe files run the new install, and I'm unable to create a new shortcut as their no longer is the logo like the old exe file had.

as Brenda Lee would sing " All Alone Am I"

Have a great day Ted.

If you have definitely installed the update once, delete the Desktop shortcut(s) - all of them, related to RDSS (i.e. the shortcut to the installer or the installer program itself, and the shortcut to the actual RDSS program).

Then find your RDSS Folder and within that folder, the RDSS program file which is RDSS.EXE (type: Application). Double-click that to launch RDSS. If it works and you get Version 0.99.0, exit to your RDSS folder again, then right-click on the RDSS program file, choose 'Send to' then 'Desktop (create shortcut)'. The result will be a new Desktop shortcut to the RDSS program (and not the Installer program which you seem to be re-launching every time).

Sounds like a problem with your browser, downloading...

Can you download anything? How about the previous version install file? Or a PDF file from the Library, or some random software off the internet?

The RDSSinstall0990.exe file is shipping like hotcakes tonight, in general.

My download manager must have been corrupted. I uninstalled the download manager and the
upgrade installed with no trouble.
Thanks for your help,
