Bill V........I enjoyed your post very much. The video is wonderful. I did not have any popcorn, but I did have some oatmeal
After seeing your post, and a couple of races that FTL did last week, I feel like I am getting in the zone. Have a nice day! |

Thank You
Thanks for the nice words
I love oatmeal ! By the way ,, Speaking of my model and profile These 7.5 turf races are a mess. I hate them. When they run on the turf the times are all over the place When they are taken off the turf they run the race as a dirt mile and the adjustment when doing the EPR LPR and TPR for Phase 1 is impossible Look at this winner Alicantino it won the August 3 6th race at 8/1 The chart shows the race stayed on the turf Look at the DTV for the race 109 !!! and look at the POR 26.8 53.2 140.7 is this a harness race ? |

Finally got time to view the video - great job Bill. I like to watch videos as folks explain what their thinking - it's like your sitting next to the person as the go over the software with you.
You stated that one of the horses was shipped from prx to pen which is a lower class track. Besides Thistledown, which is a low class track and in my home town, I'm at a loss as to the ratings of the other tracks. Beside time making us wiser is there any place/web site that posts these type of stats? Thanks again and good stuff.

Hello Bill
I have been away from RDSS for over a year and now I am back. The video is very good and the races you look for made lots of sence. What I would like to see is some of the races that you pass, if you don't mind.

Bill,
As you know, I am a matcher. The presence of the early 1 and 5 certainly makes the race look like it's going to run sustained. Of the two S types from your screen print showing original pacelines, the one closest to the pace is the 8. Bradshaw said bet the horse closest to the lead given the pace of the race. That 23.93 first quarter cooked the earlies and the pressers. The video was very nice. Anybody that makes as many good decisions as you did in this race deserves to hit a nice winner. It was nice hanging out with you at Del Mar. Hope things are going well for you. It certainly appears that they are. Tim

Pass

Its good to see you back. That is a good idea to do the same thing but in a race I pass But I think that must be a race before the fact, I mean it would be silly to find a race with a 3/5 horse and say I passed after it won LOL I pass 7 out of a typical Parx 9 race card for a variety of reasons. I will see if I can put something together. It should be interesting. Bet your glad they are back at Santa Anita. !!!! Bill |

Its great to hear from you. I have to tell you I have a great new respect for the first fraction, Every time I check out the first call in routes, I keep hearing your words as you matched races at Del Mar weekend. I'm feeling great. You were right, yoga is changing both my body and mind. I take a class every Sunday down on the beach at Del Mar. Still take the 101 bus from Carlsbad to Del Mar as much as I can.. Hope you had a nice trip up to the northwest Keep cool Bill |

First fraction video
Hi Terry
Here is a horse called Tanivan I have highlighted the POR times for the last pace line Notice how it ran against a POR of 24.40 48.80 113.10 and 138.80 and then we see that Tanivan was up close to this pace of race So were is the first fraction in a route? Its after 1/2 of the race has been run The EPR number It comes from the second call or 3/4 pole time in route races. to show where these points of call are I have made this little diagram of a 1 mile oval I called it Sartin Downs but I positioned the poles about were they are at PARX. Do you see how much of the race is run when they hit the first timer after 24 seconds? In routes the first fraction is at 48 seconds or 1 half of the race Now were I have marked 114 is the the early pace number in routes Here is a little video were I go into what i'm showing Hope you find this helpful terryfirst.mp4 |
