Which one of us has a degree in Zoology?
Which one of us a Master's in Biology with countless hours spend researching animal behavior. The ENTIRE reason they run is fight/flight,. They run out of FEAR,,,,fear from the belief a predator is touching them. We condition that reflex to respond to the same stimulus that a predator would incite. That's is it, pure and simple no matter what silly human emotional system you superimpose on it. I love horses yet understand their mental limitations WHICH, compared to us, are very limited Last edited by Tim Y; 11-25-2008 at 04:31 PM. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horse_behavior
Horse behavior is best understood from the perspective that horses are prey animals with a well-developed fight-or-flight instinct. Their first response to a threat is to flee, although they are known to stand their ground and defend themselves or their offspring in cases where flight is untenable, such as when a foal would be threatened. In a race I never have seen to much standing their ground, but a lot of FLIGHT from perceived dangerous stimuli |
