I have a visual memory of Giacomo having a BIG Late rating, likely a big Late E/L stick, and yes probably off that SA Derby line. Was using Speculator and Validator then, in Spring 2005, so that makes sense. And his odds made it a comfortable bet.

On Bill V's old VDC Messenger Yahoo group (forerunner of P&C) , we had a Derby Contest, and I scored quite highly. As a prize, Bill sent me my first Sartin-related cap:
