I'm not saying he going to be in the position shown on these two lines, but look how close up The Bird is against these slow early fractions .This guy could move up as Curlin did in his Belmont.

Also if fractions are 48/49 - 72/73, think of how many units of energy this guy is saving for that Power Move

Just something to think about guys.

Since 1996, there has been 5 winners in 5th or worse at the mile mark. Not to mention, there has been a few (I think 2) that were 4th at the mile. Although the favor is in the E's Hands, I wouldn't count Mine That Bird out.


Also, is anybody thinking the same as myself? Charitable Man having a break-away lead at the start?? Possibly a Lone E situation?

I know Miner's Escape is an E/EP style, but he just can't come close to matching the Pace here.

Very well said. I really think that it is scary that this guy could be saving it up (energy) for that spurt from those power packs late.. Nice post Charlie and thanks for the graphic as well.
