People who spend a lot of time worrying about whether someone's made up identity is their 'real' made up identity or not have way to much time on their hands.

While I can relate to the idea of adopting a different persona as an aid to thinking differently and focusing on, for example, different Sartin software approaches (or, where would we be without Frank Oz and the various Muppets...), in a public discussion forum and as a 'journalistic' approach, I think it is a slippery slope which would rapidly create more problems than whatever the perceived benefits. If one person can do it, then everyone should be permitted, and I can't imagine reading a member's post and having at the same time to think: who's speaking now...? If you know anyone who suffers from pi-polar disorder or (god forbid) genuine multiple-personalities, you will know (or can imagine) how frustrating that is to be unsure of who you are relating to, or how much certainly to have in the content of what you're hearing. I am no journalist, but I think I can understand, while writers certainly do use pseudonyms (as do half the members here and elsewhere online), respectable publications or online communities rely on the notion of one-voice, one message.

Obviously, Bill V has absolutely no nefarious intentions whatsoever - it's his website, his dream, his baby! In my view, Bill - under any User Id - has only ever sought to teach valuable principles of various stages of the Sartin Methodology. I know him, and I know his heart is good: he puts more blood, sweat, tears and love into this site than anyone else I know who gets up at 5am and then works a 12 hour day.

That said, I have long let it be known my opinion that one person using multiple Ids - however benevolently intended - is not a good idea. Transparency, like civility and respectful dissent, is a good idea. I strongly feel it should be the policy of Pace and Cap to not permit multiple identities, and any known multiples should be immediately de-activated. Recently, I have tended to take the job of greeting and activating most of the new members and it is indeed possible to prevent multiple Ids. All new members submit a brief bio before posting privileges are granted and there are other tools available as well.

Bill V - I correspond with many people (e.g. new Members, RDSS users and enquiries, Sartin Library users) who have almost universally expressed their gratitude and admiration for the work you have done here and continue to do teaching various phases of the Methodology, quoting passages from Follow Ups and printed materials, collating audio tapes, etc. Please accept my thanks for what you do, and please continue to speak with a strong - and singular - voice.

THIS quote has caused the biggest POSITIVE change in my play over the last couple of weeks.

Before absorbing your quote above I was going through continuous cycles of:
1) Constant play of 7-10 hours a day
2) Burnout and NO play
3) Constant play of 7-10 hours a day
4) Burnout and NO play

Your post made me stop and think about finding a "better way" and since then I have formed a MUCH different way to approach the races.

1) I NEVER even consider working races on days or times when I have ANY negative thoughts in my head about ANYTHING whether racing related or personal. I have learned though personal experiences (read LOSING sessions) that this positive KARMA thing is very real for me.

2) When #1 does not exist and I am going to work races I now allocate a 2 hour window to work races and bet.NEVER longer. During the session I will look at 3-6 tracks, turn off all phones,emails etc and work races intensely focused. Using the RDSS live tote feed I can see on the left side ALL the tracks upcoming post times so i NEVER miss a race. Might seem insignificant at first blush but it is huge for ME.

3) I pay VERY close attention to my mental focus and LISTEN for clues from the inner voice. When it puts in my head to "shut it down" I listen and act on it. Believe it or not I am noticing that this has virtually NOTHING to do with whether I am winning or losing for that particular session.

Following this plan inspired by YOU:
1) Betting $20.00 per race the last 2 weeks I have made enough PROFIT to pay my homeowners insurance for the year and it is a fairly significant number man.

2) Yesterday I started working on my property taxes which come due end of February. This is a MUCH bigger nut and to pay it ALL from racing I am going to need to be at my absolute BEST.

P.S. I also have met a very nice young lady. I'm gonna go for it even though she is 20 years my junior.
