Jim and Leroi,
All things considered, handicapping and playing the horses are small potatoes compared to one's health and welfare. Although, it sure does create a nice family of people that funnel prayers and energy towards one in harms way. God speed you people to warmth and well being. (and the steak and Jack). Cecil |

Mr. B.....
Glad you went to your daughter's home. A little Jack and a warm place to snuggle with LeRoi and your family at this time of the year is great. Stay safe and warm. Pete |

Jim just called from his daughter's house. He asked me to post to all of you that he is warm and comfortable.
There are over 200 thousand folks without power in the Tulsa area he told me. Looks like at least 7 to 10 days til power is restored. Then he has to get help in clearing his yard of trees and tree limbs. He said his porch has been damaged and LeRoi was talking to the insurance people this morning. Richie

It is a monster. Went through here first. Sunday, there were like 125,000 households without power statewide, Monday that had moved to 245,000 and by this morning it was 600,000. That's a big chunk of the households in Oklahoma.
The tree damage is unbelievable. Here in Norman we had over 4 inches of freezing rain and it did a number on a lot of the really old trees. 100 years of planting and we're back to praarie land. The same thing happened to the Omaha area a few years ago and to western Arkansas a few years before that. The good news is that the freezing rain has let up here and the power crews are doing a hell of a job getting peoples power back. The bad news is that the same storm system is still moving north further into Missouri and Illinois. Stay Dry Jim. The Jack Daniels helps with the crying. My choice is Old Charter 10 year old; in good times and in bad. Dick...

Mr. Hat,
Glad you and wife are safe, warm and with loved ones and hope the damage isn't to bad at your place. I've always thought that you should make the best of what your dealt and if you have some Jack and steak that ain't all bad, but don't wear out your welcome cause you might want the kids to help with repairs. We appreciate all your insight and wisdom on this good game and wish the best for you guys. Hang tough. Bud |

I feel for you, Jim.
I was in the Ice Storm in NY in '92......I was lucky - got power back in 5 days. Some around here were 2-3-4 weeks! Nasty stuff - you can't beat ice. Glad you're out and thawed out. |
