Happy holidays!

I could actually have been born Canadian, my parents were due to emigrate, but got cold feet at the last minute. Perhaps t was the fabulous Manchester weather & cuisine that made them stay!

Quick question, are some of the NY Yankees wearing red & white socks for Canada Day?

I have the NBA & Baseball on my sports channels if anyone was wondering...

Apologies all round to all everyone on the other side of the pond!

Those socks were for the USA Independence. As they had one sock that was red & white I just thought they might be Canadian players...........I didn't notice the stars on the other sock!

Please pardon my ignorance on this & again sorry to everyone!!!!

Maybe they're covering all the bases . No worries my friend. Any Brit who gets basketball and baseball is OK by me! In Canada, we sure don't get enough cricket and rugby on TV ... Now, tell me you get hockey too and ALL is forgiven

I don't have the hockey here......

I actually started watching the baseball by accident really. As I'd heard of the Cubs due to Elwood's traffic violation in the Blues Brothers I ended up wanting them to win. As the season progressed it became apparent that the last time they had won outright was out of living memory, which very much mirrored the situation with Man City winning the premier league for the first time in my life not long back.

Watching the Cubs fans outside Wrigley Field celebrating, watching the big screen was lovely. I know what that emotional outpouring feels like.
Great stuff!
