IND 8 9-10 Interesting Stakes Race
Our Brother Tim has called for some postings and as always he makes a good point. I have not posted for a while, probably just lazy or thinking folks have heard enough from me for a while. In support of Tim and the effort to help here is my post of an interesting race from my handicapping today.
We are looking at Indianapolis Race 8. It is a $100k Stakes race at 8.5 F on the dirt. Here is our field. Looking at our database for IND Routes we see this. And note that 92% of the time we can expect the winner in the top 5 RX3 same with V/DC. We move to the Leverage Pace screen and scratch to the top 5 RX3 with consideration for V/DC. We note some horses who have some indication that the might win and make them Secondary contenders. After scratches we see the following. (To be continued in the next frame!)

IND 8 9-10 Interesting Stakes Race Part 2
I have marked the 4 as my Key horse, but at this part of the process I am still deciding. It looks like the Key is most likely the 4 or the 9. When I originally did this race, at this point I had not made up my mind but I am focused on the 4 and the 9.
I am still not sure. They both have something going for them. Here is where I begin to feel stronger about the 4. He will be closer to the front. And if you look at the data sheet you will note that 72% of winners in routes at IND have a New Pace rating. 4 is #1 NP Early and 9 has no NP rating. Slight difference I know. New Pace, when looking at the 4’s total past performances rates him better than the 9 horse. .So the 4 it is for the Key. Looking at all the screens I see as companions the 9 for sure, the 1, the 6 and the 12. So our bet was 4 in a trifecta key box with the 9,1,6,12 and the 4 in an exacta key box with the 1,6,9,12, So how did we do? I hope this analysis is helpful to your Handicapping endeavor!

Wow. Dick thanks for posting this race. Once again your break down is excellent. Anyone who gets tired of seeing the post from a proven winner is doing them selves a serious disservice. Folks study what Dick has spelled out here. It doesn't get any better. I would also like to point out a few extra things that I noticed from the readouts. For those[like me]who use the 4 number approach note that the 4 & 9 are the RMATH possible key horse and the 4 would be the selected as the key horse since its' 1=1 is on the PL-BPP side which Rich gave more weigh to. Also on the BL/BL screen take note of the ranks of the 1 in EP,LP,& CPR[2-3-3]. For those who have been with the Method for a long time you may remember the Doc pointed out in the Follow Up that horses with readouts like this were prime longshot contenders[ 3-3-X,X-3-3 are other examples]. I think that I posted this before on the site. I will try to find the FU where it appears. Look at the segment screen rankings[3=3=3] with a 1.4 %VDC and on the leverage screen it has all4 #S and is tied with the 9 in the RX3 score with 19 points. Anyway for those are not doing as well as they want to study this post and go back and find the other post Dick has posted and review his break downs. There is a wealth of great info contained in them. Also review his LSP angle. Once again Dick thanks for taking the time to share this race. this race.
Tim

Thanks
Thanks Tim,
Thanks too for adding your insights. I review the RDSS screens info quickly sometimes, the data registers and I forget to mention it. My old brain has moved on. So thanks for noting and commenting on some really important data. Dick

Hi Don. It is nice to see that at least someone is getting something from our attempts to help folks to become more consistent winners. Keep on working to improve and you will reach your goal. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day. It took me 8 yrs before the light bulb went on.

Dick
I noticed with the segment screen. The #1 is a presser and seems to be the second best. I know I am starting to take a second look at the segment screen in regards to the finish.(of course all the other stuff) I can see how you reached the conclusion that you did...it seemed to be the logical choice. Thanks again for posting. Don |
