August 17th, Wednesday
The card today could play a bit chalky early, bu t I think there will be some value late. The two races today are Saratoga 8th and Saratoga 10th. Saratoga 8th: My first selection is going to be #7 TARPYS, a horse taking an acceptable drop in class, and also ranked superbly throughout all BLBL readouts and up top on the BLBL. Can’t pass him up at 9/2 ML and will be hoping to get a price around 5/2 and 3/1. As always, if any of my selections drop below 2/1, that horse is filled in with my 3rd selection which will usually be listed at the bottom under “contenders”. My next selection is #3 WIZARDLY. He’s just a hard knocking claimer and at 10/1 ML hopefully he will stay at that price. He is definitely worth a shot against this field. He uses his energy late and ranks well in the necessary rankings for a late running horse. Love the value, and he may be able to pose for picture at a good price. Contenders: 3-6-7 Top Two: 3-7 Saratoga 10th: My first selection is the horse right on top again with a decent price, #4 CHOMSKY. Although this horse is a professional maiden at 0-15, I think that he may be able to break through against these. It seems to be a bit of a weaker field, and with his numbers I think he can get it done. My next selection is #11 ALIEN. A horse with a bit of upside having only run three times and recently finishing 2nd. His numbers contend with this field and at 12/1 ML he may be able to make my day. As I said I think this is a weaker field with lots of 0 for 10 and 15 maidens. He still has some upside, his energy usage is very even, and he is well ranked throughout the readouts to confirm he is a grinding type. I think this horse is dangerous at 12/1. Expect that price to go down. Contenders: 4-9-11 Top Two: 4-11 Last edited by Latekick; 08-17-2016 at 08:26 AM. |

In that 8th, the entry will certainly draw some attention as will the 4 & 6
In the finale, the favorite will be less than even money so one has to ask themselves if it is really that much better in a field of maidens so as to use it as a key. His lines TOWER over this field but one must ask themselves if he is that good, why is he still a maiden: the classic ones to bet against. Lots of contenders there: 4 Chomsky 9 Greyjoy 3 Tree Top Lover 11 Alien Gray but late scratches may make this filed a lot shorter. 12 Lubsen is the long shot here. 4 6 12 project up on the pace with 2 4 9 having the better moves late. Odds board and the late scratches will make this a wager or a pass. Outside the obvious, this race is wide open. Professional maidens find a way to lose OFTEN at short odds. Stay away from them as, long term, they are money wasters big time.

Running low on time enjoying downtown Saratoga tonight will try to get everything updated and ready to go tomorrow.
Unfortunate scratch at the gate in the 8th and an alternate winner at 5/1 in the last. All in all, Saratoga is incredible. Beyond all expectations. |

Okay, here is my updated results:
Record: 3-9 Amount Wagered: $36 Amount returned: $28 A few hiccups here and there. Yesterday was a good day for me cash wise, just a little bit of bad luck with my two spot races on here. However, today is a new day and by the end of this meet i plan to be well into the profit category, even if my win percentage is lower. |

August 18th, Thursday
The two races today will be Saratoga 2nd, and Saratoga 9th Saratoga 2nd: I believe that i may be able to score with a price here early on in the card. It is a good spot to take advantage of some cheaper runners who may confuse the public. My first choice is #5 NORM . As it so often happens when i am looking for these very specific spot plays, my top ranked horse is listed at a very nice price, and also doesn't have any suspicious class drop question marks. He is coming off of a win in his last race, and if you use that race it puts him right on top against these. He uses his energy early on, and is well rated in all necessary Early ratings including EP. At 12/1, he may be able to jump out and score at a nice price in this second race. My second choice is #9 ILL FRATELLO. A horse with not too many question marks. He takes a reasonable drop after getting soundly beat against open claimers last time out but also did show some life in that race. His two back race puts him right in the mix. A horse who uses his energy a little bit late, and is well ranked in LPR, TT, and HID. He will have a lot left in the tank late, and may be able to run them down. 10/1 ML. Contenders: 5-9-12 Top two: 5-9 Race 9: When me and Pete looked at this race, it was clear right away who the best two horses were in the race. The #3 and #6 will be tough to beat in this one. First, #3 QUEZON. Coming off of a sharp effort last time out, seems to be in good form. He uses his energy a bit late, and is well ranked in LPR, and HID. He has the correct rankings for a horse who wants to come running late and have something left. Hopefully he can sit mid pack, and explode with his late energy turning for home. #6 DR. FAGERS GAL. Not quite Dr. Fager himself, but, it is Dr. Fagers Gal so maybe there in something there. Name handicapping aside, he's a horse who has been steadily improving as of late, running his 2nd best career line two back (which is the line i used by the way) and will be competitive class wise. He uses his energy a bit early, and is well ranked in EPR, and TT, which is what is needed for an early expenditure horse to go on with it. This is a two horse race in my eyes. Hopefully the prices don't fall to low. Contenders: 3-6-8 Top Two: 3-6 |

If you notice in the second--the 9 has a three in each of the fractals. Interesting pattern that points to winners often.
It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

2nd today Saratoga
10 Shadow Rider 11 Chubby Master 5 Norm the Giant 1 Cee No More stand out here with the 2 Ghareeb having some back class that may be expressed. Let the odds board differentiate the support there. Shadow Rider has gone up against the best paced races.
9th there appears to be no money makers here as it seems straight forward Quezon 7 Hot City Girl 4 Court Dancer 6 Dr. Fager's Gal

Good observation that I missed the first time through Did not wager on this. AFTER you posted (I was out at the rest home when this ran) I reviewed the fractions from f1 on, and the 12 did have the possibility of going all alone on the lead.
Just looked and he did just that. That track does favor the front end MORE so when it is wet.
