KGEN Sprints review

By request

Here is a way I work races using KGEN, This is from the follow up
I think its follow up 27 but its been awhile,
I use it for both sprints and routes. i was sked to do a sprint race
so I will use race 5 today ( if they run )
This is a method used by Doc and Shane

The race is race 5 today at Parx 2/14//17

It is a 5.5 sprint CL10000 4+

I did all the pace line work in RDSS and exported then lines
into KGEN right from RDSS

First here is the energy generator

These are to me all true contenders, They are coming from different
tracks and there are big swings in the daily track variants.

So I will use the 2 adjust

I

In this method i ignore all the number readouts
like the 1/2 furlong breakdowns and the KEXDC

In this method i just take the top 3 horse from each of the 6 line graphs

The line graphs are

Raw EX, Raw SP, 1 Adjust SP, EX and 2 Adjust EX and SP

Here are those line graphs

Raw SP

eliminate

Ideally KGEN should get you down to 4 contenders.
Thoromation works best with only 4 horses

Using this method The 3 is the only horse not listed in the top 3 of any of the 6
line graphs

I will eliminate the 3 and then use Thoromation

Here is the new energy generator
I still have a 2 point spread in total energy so I will use the 2 adjust

readouts

Now I again ignore all the 1/2 furlong numbers and KEXDC

I will 2 adjust

Now I will run thoromation

When you use the 2 adjust thoromation usually projects a real close finish

What I do is I use the preplay option and find the screen that matches thoromation, and - or the preply screen that pops up first

in this race the SP screen popped up first and it dose match thoromation

The EP screen is the counter energy screen in this race

I do not know

I am busy driving today
I am not sure the track, or scratches 0r final odds
Based on what I have here
I would go with the SP screen and take the 2 and 6 to win
for my exacta i would include the 5 someplace ( odds dependent )

Any reason why you left out the first and second place finishers from the contenders?

I did

Because in this race I was demonstrating how to do a typical sprint race
What pace line would you use for the winner, ?
I did include the winner on my pick 4 ticked as a 4th tier " c "
Because of the trainer and 3/1 morning line.
But to demo the race properly , before the fact , I need a pace line
So no line, no results

Lastly my key horse was the 2 which was scratched so until I rerun the race I am not sure exactly what the winner and place horse get

pace lines?

Leaving out 2 speed horses including the fastest 1/4 time horse on the page on a fast track? The 1a is hard for me to understand leaving out? I know you didn't realize the 2 was a scratch but the 1a is faster to the quarter and the half on a fast track how can he be left out? By the way I am in no way criticizing your work. Also a side note over the years working with the Sartin stuff and various other pace treatments there is one thing that is overwhelmingly clear to me,THE GAME CANNOT BE BEAT BY MATH.It sure helps but we have all run zillions of races through all our programs and continually leave out the winner or get beat by any number of other factors that trump pace and our little, programs,Connections, new trainer, new owner, lasix, gelded, hot jockey, bad trip, a never ending list of reasons the game cant be beat by math alone.

Fair

So thank you for answering your own question, this race is an example of the type of race were other factors won, I asked for a pace line . Because this was a demo of how
Howard Sartin him self did races with KGEN
To demo the program I need a pace line .
When I actually bet this race for my pick 4 I did get the 1A ranked 4th but I used
adjusted lines , and RDSS Val 4 .The man who requested the demo is old school and hand enters his pacelines raw, So I did the race , because it just happened to be the race I had last done

I could have very easily picked a race that had a ready run and made a nice tidy perfect presentation, but the man who requested the race, in my opinion probably gets more out of learning when races are done before the fact , I have known him since this place started. I have handicapped with him in person many times live racetracks ,I know his skills.
I could have also just answered him in a email But I despise doing race work ups
Or any Sartin related work in private messages .Ted and I have invested many long hours and funds over the years to keep this place as the premier Sartin, Match Up discussion board, So I'm going to use it,

So I have a question for you , Would you have posted this race, before the fact, long before you knew scratches or the track conditions? Would your subject be,
Here is a race were math does not win, and then before the fact , ,show the race with Sartin program readout, that show the winner ranked near the bottom ,
But then say your who your bets were,
I appreciate your Match Up skills but there is plenty of Match Up talk in the hat check area, This was just a demo of steps for a specific program

Thanks
Bill
