First Time RDSS User

Started my evaluation a few days ago and had mixed success with the practice races.....but enough positives to outweigh negative and keep working it. Went to the track today to play live for the first time. Again mixed success with a win or two exacta here and there and a couple of near miss trifecta's with all the right horses selected just in the wrong order. After the Derby wrapped up( ) I was ahead about $40 on the day . The I hit this to make my day a really positive one collecting $204.12 on the dime super. Had a great first day RDSS experience winning about $250 total. Looking forward to learning and becoming more efficient with this great tool.

I want to say thanks to all the guys who post regular here. Ted V, Lead Step your contributions here are great. I crammed a lot of information into my brain this week to start climbing the learning curve on how to use RDSS as an effective handicapping tool. I have a long ways to go to understand all of its features and wealth of information but today was a positive first step.

Hi Bill thanks for the encouraging words. Yeah I was rooting for Bob Consultation to pull off the win at 20-1 in this race. I think my super payout would have likely doubled had that happened. But it was still a great result.

After making my paceline selections RDSS put the #4 in this race as the 2nd best BL horse but I chose to bump him into an ITM only status because his only race available was on a wet fast track and it was his first time jumping up against winners. Paid off to downgrade the 3-5 favorite on my ticket because had I not done so I would have missed this race with the 4/7 in the win spot on my superfecta and the 10 as my 3rd choice.

That would have hurt given if not for the #17 in the derby I would have had the tri and the exacta in the derby too. If that had happened I might not have even played the 8th at SA since I would have been having a celebratory drink with my track companions here at Canterbury Downs. So sometimes the racing gods do smile on you after a near miss...

Cheers !

BZ.......

Keep it pumping! You are looking at races in a way that very few people have access to. You will win races and know why. One of my favorite things about the Sartin Methodology is nailing a good price horse and after the race, hearing everyone within earshot complaining about jockeys, trips, changing leads, and every other excuse as to why they've lost the race.

Also, I think you are smart for going out and playing the races live, even if you are new to it. Experience is the best teacher. At least at first, do your work at home, go to the track and stick to your guns. Don't be influenced by anyone at the track.

Best of luck!

Thanks CEW. I am not new to horse racing or Sartin concepts. Just new to RDSS. After giving up on low price favorites from speed figs I have been a pace handicapper for the better part of 5 years and always had a strong gut support for some of the Sartin ideas and work. Big fan of Modern Pace Handicapping etc. But with RDSS its opening up a new world for me to explore. So far I am very impressed. I had one more similar strong race at the Pimlico on Preakness weekend. You can see my analysis screen BL/BL got the result file exactly right in sequence first 4 position. I love the dime superfectas as a tool for learning a new software. It puts a little skin in the game but not enough to hurt while you are learning. I played this race from my ADW not a live ticket at the track and combined 6, / ,9,7/ 3,4,6,,9 /,4,6,7,9,10 for a $3.60 dime super ticket. Collected about $90 for my effort.
