The Pizzola window
ANYTHING that takes my ROI from 0.55 to 1.38 is a worthwhile maneuver.
Pizzolla's Handicapping Magic has many a good ideas, but the Pizzolla turf window shines above all the rest. It is a simple, predictive idea exclusive to turf handicapping. In a nutshell, in his discussing the definition of form cycles, (which on dirt have strict definitions between a horses' last good race and more recent signs of improvement), he simply states that on GRASS, one opens the form cycle up completely and considers the best turf line in the past ten races. Recency does NOT play into our use of the best of last three comparable here. It is that looking deeper that makes this angle get much better mutuels. I am trying to locate a play by play of this that worked very well when I was trying to become Woodbine's Horseplayer Interactive handicapper (still have not given up on that either as the replacement hired, named Rippy, gives out nothing but chalk day in and day out) from Turf Paradise with the eventual winner, a horse named Gehrig (a standout with three lines better than the field which paid over $25.00) and will go through the entire logic behind the final choice. Give me about 48 hours to get together the entire card and result chart. STEP ONE is to just choose the best turf line on each horse (THE BEST turf TPP), then go to the incremental deceleration chart and eliminate those that show nothing. STEP TWO: go back to those that show promise and add their second, third and fourth best TPP on turf and go to the incremental chart to see how those lines compare to the field.......I will show how this focused on Gehrig, and the place horse was the contra-energy on turf (early). |

Forget it then....find your own angles and not those based on RESEARCH OF HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of races.
Research requires review: angles are only found by REVIEW, The entire scientific method is based upon correlation of experimental factors analyzed in RETROSPECT. I searched two hard drives and made 12 screen captures for this but they are staying right where they are. THIS one only worked by testing dozens and dozens of races. This ego problem with the temporal production of data is really old and really stupid. Find it yourself. |

Nice tactic Tim try and get everyone to turn against me even though I am looking out for the best interest of the newcomers. Good then, take your marbles and go home. You are the worlds BEST REDBOARD handicapper Tim. You never enter contests, you never post selections before hand. You have the gall to talk science but you offer NO STATISTICS to back up any of your theories. Your paceline selection has been questioned for years on this board. You are very dangerous to newcomers becuase you constantly pound the table with these theories.

I have to concur with Tim that he did participate and give some horses he liked prior to races being run and in fact some ran quite well.
On a positive note, I enjoy learning and Tim is the kind of guy I can learn a new thing or two because he marches to a different beat. He is very knowledgeable and obviously loves horse racing. On the negative side, Tim can come across very strong and somewhat arrogant when analyzing races after the fact, especially in threads where other people are providing selections before the fact. Kind of like the guy at the otb next to you who says "How the heck could you bet the 4 horse" after the race has run and the 4 has finished up the track. The 1 horse wins and the otb guy will spend 10 minutes, unsolicited, telling you why the 1 horse won. Tim, I do hope you change your mind and include the screen shots with a little explanation/analysis. Jim |
