Entropy - Todays Winners at PHA (11-06-06)

When Entropy was first introduced, it was touted as being the closest piece of software that could accurately do the match-up with a great degree of accuracy. This statement, in my opinion still holds true today.
If you are fortunate enough to have a copy, it would be worth your while to read anything and everything written about it. It definitely can be used as a stand alone program and if you are not lazy and analyze the read-outs, you will become proficient wth this software, However, it is not easy to interpret.
Additionally, contender selection and paceline selection is critical to this program.

Here are my results for today:

I agree, but what was written about it? There was a convoluted, impossible to understand "manual" written for Expo 1993, a short summary included with the program that is really nothing more than a printout of the "Help" section, and not much else! (That I know about, anyway!) If you know of something, could you direct me to it?

I was at that Expo in Las Vegas, I lived there for 10 years, where I was given a copy of that manual and yes, it is obscure to say the least. There was also a seminar given by Glenn Connolly in 1994 in New Orleans where he described some of the screens and methods.
These screens are the basis for the proper use of the program but let me warn you that they have a broad interpretation and they are not the gospel. There is nothing set in stone. Each race is like a new puzzle and sets up differently.
I have it in a PDF file. One of the board members was kind enough to sent it to me. Send me your email and I would be happy to send it to you. There are some follow-ups you can ask "Binder" for.
I also found that the later release of the program was better then the first.
I use Entropy II.
The best method of understanding Entropy is by backtesting races to see what the contributing factors were for the winner. If your contenders and pacelines are not accurate, you will easily be misled.
I am still learning this program. When I lose a race, I go back to it and try to see why. Before you put your money down you have to build a strong level of confidence in the use of this program. This could take quite a bit of time and practice.
