PrM 8th: Match-Up Help

This looked like an interesting race and one with a component that I find challenging.

#6 Looks like a dominant early fighter to me but there are fast pressers that like to lay pretty close to the pace. The part I often struggle with is determining if those fast pressers will put too much pressure on the early horse. In this race, those pressers are #3 and #4. I am sticking with #6 since he beat both of them in previous tandems, butI would love any feedback and other takes on this race...

Thanks...

Pm 5 1/2 f

Pete,

I like your choice of the 6. He looks like the lone early. The Hat had a spot play in his second book where an early horse is shortening up in distance as this horse is from 6 to 5.5 F. This horse has done that twice and won. One time way back in the PPs it didn't work.

The 3 looks like he can't handle the pace. The 4 and 7 might be trouble if the 6 doesn't put distance between himself and the field.

I'll be pulling for you.

Tim

Hi Pete...the only 2 horses that can handle a 45 pace are the 4 & 5...if the #1 can some how shoot out from the post and pressure the 6 , we might get a price..will be watching the race...

I love when someone puts up a challenge like this

The race ends up running OTE with the #2 pressuring the #6 early. The #3 comes home to take it at a pretty nice price. #6 got hammered late at the windows anyway so i guess it's no great loss.

Thanks for the comments guys...on to the next one.
