Need Help with the MatchUp

Hi Everyone,

I am successful using the matchup process. However, I have some questions regarding E/OTE and some of the matchup pictures that I would like to discuss with someone over the phone. I will pay for the phone call.

If you use RDSS and the MatchUp process consistantly in your everyday handicapping approach and would like to help please send me an email.

The agenda for the phone call would be to go over a few definitions and then do a few races that are already posted on the BBS. Nothing too fancy or complicated.

If you have the time, use RDSS, understand the MatchUp process and would like to help please email me at jeewiz@sbcglobal.net. Please include some background information regarding your level of understanding the MatchUp process.

Thanks and Happy Holidays,

Buzz

Your instructions make it feel like one is applying for a job. Perhaps I should send you my resume. Buzz it would be great to combine Ted’s very good software program RDSS with the Boxcar’s some day to be released AM program. The RDSS will always give you better numbers then the PCR or any of the other computations.

I would be willing to get into some of your questions on your help subject but it would have to be here in the open so that all of our other members if they so wish can either chime in or learn as well.

Thanks,

Robert

Thank You Buzz and Robert

I too would love to follow along here..
I am pretty new at the match up but I think I have a
good understanding of it at a beginners level and I use RDSS
99.9 % of the time

So what ever you can share here would be a great interest to me

Richie and Hat in the Hat Check area is a place I study
any more discussion will most likely help me. Other's too I hope

Robert,

Resume? <LOL>

No, I am not looking to hire anyone. I am just trying to find someone with whom I can have a 1:1 conversation with and discuss the MatchUp. Right now I am living in a vacuum.

Trying to do it on the BBS is difficult because I have not been able to post RDSS screen shots with much success. Even the simplest post turns into hours of frustration. So I thought a phone conversation would be faster and more satisfying.

Regarding Boxcar and his methodology ... I would never feel comfortable discussing BHM on this BBS. Every BBS has a particular purpose for being set up and I always like to stay on target with the focus of what ever BBS I am posting on.

I began studying the MatchUp years ago but of course RDSS was not yet developed. I have both of Jimmy's books and have archived the "Hat" forum. Yet until I can "sit down" with someone and exchange ideas regarding how I think the MatchUp was intended to be used ...I feel not quite right.

If my original post sounds too formal it probably is. Communicating on the internet via typing is vastly different than having a face to face conversation with someone. Typing is a very limited way to communicate...unless your an author.<G>

So consider the situation I am trying to resolve.

Consider that if I am paying toll call charges I would like to know ahead of time that it is worth the time, effort and cost. I am sure for instance that many readers may understand the MU but not be using RDSS. If so than it is impossible for the two of us to discuss setting up a MU race in RDSS. Also, for instance, many readers use RDSS but only have a casual understanding of the MU. So to save time I thought it would be a good idea to be as specific as possible up front and go from there.

I am not trying to hatch some special secret handicapping method...just trying to learn the MU in a timely manner. I have no hesitation in sharing information. I have contributed thousands of pages of posts and documentation to the HSH forum and another several hundred or so the BHM forum. I have found that sharing information has always been very rewarding and will continue to do so.. <G> ...

Buzz,

Consider booking and using the Pace and Cap Online Meeting Room (GoToMeeting web-conferencing) to connect Desktops and telephones (either one-on-one or in a group) to accomplish the learning you seek. I make regular use of this myself in rendering RDSS tech support or learning about others' handicapping approaches. Nothing beats sitting (virtually) side-by-side with someone, looking at and sharing the same computer screen, mouse, keyboard, talking and interactively sharing understanding - then watching the whole thing later in a recorded rerun.

You may have seen mention of periodic web meetings or RDSS Tutorials using this technology. To book the Pace and Cap GTM account and start a meeting, just drop a line to either myself or to Bill V (Admin). If it's not otherwise booked, it's yours. FAQs and usage guides available. On request to serious-minded Pace and Cap members.

Cheers,

Ted

Buzz, I too would never divulge what Boxcar has so graciously offered and requested that it not be freely offered via open post. In this regard Boxcar is different than “The Hat” who is willing to pass along his teaching to members of this site or any who may be lurking. The Boxcar as you know I am sure tried that via some other site but was unnecessarily ruffed up and finally gave it up.
If you have not already done so consider going over to a post named “software matchers” in this RDSS area. It should be helpful. Right now Richie and soon “The Hat” will be providing some helpful and additional information on utilizing the Match Up Methodology with raw numbers over at the “Hat Check” area. Whatever they offer there can be utilized in the general sense I am sure with what you learn from the software matching post.

Good luck,
Robert

This thread is way off topic.

End of story.

Each of us gets to choose whether to conduct our learning in public or in private, in group or one-on-one. The tools are there for collaborative effort, as they always are so for private.

If anyone would like to work with Buzz, please feel free, or post here links to resources related to RDSS and the Matchup, such as Richie's work in the Hat Check Forum.

As for other subjects, please feel free to start another Topic in the relevant Forum.

Cheers,

Ted
