Bill,
Hello my friend. That's okay, no need to apologize. I'm just grateful that the material is being made available! All the best, Jon

Wisdom
In the philosophy of the Tao it is suggested that if a man gains wisdom by his 5th decade, he is indeed fortunate. During my practice years, a large proportion of my patients were geriatrics: honest, open individuals who had been around and had garnered wisdom from the experiences of all those life situations.
They each stated it differently, but to a person they all said fundamentally the same things: Don't sweat the small stuff and LIVE your life. You only have so many years so never leave anything you truly want to accomplish as merely a dream. I guess degrees of regret permeated the group. I recall my wife told me the week she died not to leave any songs unsung. Living one's life takes being assertive. It is a collection of challenges, but just remember the collective wisdom of these people and don't get to be 80 and ask yourself "I wonder what would have happened IF I did this or that?" It is better to fail trying than not try at all. I learned a good lesson from my dad, an expert on the US Cavalry, he tried to get the job of curator at the US Cavalry museum in Leavenworth Kansas. He had recommendations from people in the Pentagon, historians, professors...you name it, but the job required a Master's degree in history. I told him he would have to GO THERE and promote himself so that they could see, first hand, what he had to offer. He hesitated and did not even get an interview. That experience really changed him and not too many years later, he sold his entire collection. LESSON: You have to GO FOR IT and not wait for it to come to you. Just remember the great words of Teddy Roosevelt. "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." Tim, your post was spot on as I think they say in Canada or is it England? Not sure but it was inspirational and meant something to me on a personal level.
