The big question for me is what does that "level" tell you. I pay no attention to levels based on purses or any other single metric. I want a track that has full, competitive fields. Aqueduct may have big purses, but they have a lot of short fields with prohibitive favorites.
I don't care what the horse earns, I care what it pays. I much prefer tracks like Tampa or Monmouth or Remington to the big money tracks.
