I only have records from Del Mar and Parx

and not that many races

What I do have seems to support your post

Now class has a lot to do with total energy number hi low and ave

Example a $25000 horse may have a 173 total energy at 6.0
and a $5000 horse may have a 168 total energy at 6.0

But from what I have the AVE 7.0 Total Energy for all horses is about 2 pts
less than the AVE for 6.0 furlongs I don't have enough 5.5 and 7.5 races to make a call on them
