Good book title

Ordering my copy of HEADLESS HORSEMEN soon so I can substantiate all the loons at the top who have NO IDEA where this game is or needs to go.

I have NEVER been a fan of front offices and the "suits" that populate them.
With the slow but inevitable demise of racing in North America, they are trying desperately to SQUEEZE every dollar out of the public and giving less and less back. They are TOP heavy with managers who, believe me, know nest to NOTHING about the game. NOTHING, yet they are in the drivers seat. Reminds me a lot of the movie with Alan Bates about a town in France during WWI. The Germans pull out and all the patients of an asylum take over. When the Allied troops come in they find these individuals in all manner of town positions carrying on as they were the rightful town officials.

The band aid that casinos represent will not save racing. RACING is what started the game. The ridiculous breeding of speed to speed to get a quick return on owner investment and the over use of medications that hustle the demise of the animals are other things the "suits' turn a blind eye toward because it "rocks the boat" of profits.

I am just glad I was in the experience when it was a class act: the remnants of which are still alive this month in upstate New York so enjoy it while you can.
