(Once we figured out this had to do with RDSS), this turned out to be a bug with the RDSS Result Chart popup window (PP+Chart data plan). That window is a fixed size and in lower resolution screens, it occupies more than the whole vertical screen, so the controls to close it are invisible.

The workaround is to hit ESC to dismiss it. This popup window should resize itself according to screen resolution (actually, in the next version, Result Charts for horses' PPs, and their graphs, will simply occupy another Tab of the PP set).
