If you are a one-horse or two-horse bettor,the toughest part of the game is
dealing with losing streaks.It's so frustrating that i used to go from one
computer program to another.Zig-zagging on my picks and trying to keep
up on whether early or late pace,and what other factors were winning...
And because i play in the sportsbook here in Reno,there's that feeling of
being so alone.It's lonely.I keep to myself because of the 'negative'
connotations that people think if i tell them what i do..."It's gambling","it's
evil","all horse players die broke","you can't beat this game","why can't you
work a regular job"...It's also hard to get close to anyone.I have to turn off
and bring my notebook computer to the clerk counter when i make my bets
because one time,my computer was stolen when i entrusted it to someone
who i thought i can trust.It's very tough...emotionally,mentally and
physically.That's the reason a lot of the very best handicappers have left or
don't play the game anymore.One example is Dick Schmidt.I heard that he's
now into commodities trading.He used to be one of the heavy players i've
ever seen...
