I think what most of the people who question Richie's interest in the Black Magic software are forgetting is:

The Match Up was created for "WIn " wagering. Jimmy has stated on many occasions, that when doing the Match up to get the winner, the place horse is eliminated. The Match Up is primarily used to select the "WIN" horse.

Suppose Richie decides to wager on exotics . ??

Jimmy has also stated, he doesn't play exactas or trifectas.

I hope this clears up the mis-understanding.
