Hi Bill,
That 4-horse bet(or 3 horses) for $100 target-profit was for one race only.
I usually find 1-2 races like that a day and more on weekends on the tracks
i play.I don't double-up after a loss like those due-dutch betting like some
bettors.I've been pretty good in picking win contenders and i'm sure most of
the people in this group are. Before,i'll get so frustrated when i picked 4 horses
and was just betting 2 horses because that was what the Doc suggested and
followed by the group. It took me awhile to realize that if the odds are right,
why not bet all my win contenders and make a profit? After playing the game
for awhile now,i'm sure many of us can narrow the field down to 3 or 4 horses,
and many get so frustrated after betting 2 horses and losing, and then finding
that one of the other 2 horses that they didn't bet win.I too envied those
"expert" handicappers i've read in books and thought that i'll never be able
to achieve their success...but i've found what works for me.I'm not an
expert handicapper and i've some friends in the sportsbook who are better
handicappers,but they're still struggling to make a profit.I just keep a low
profile here at the racebook of the Grand Sierra Casino(former Reno Hilton) ...
