This is directly from the Glossary of terms in the Energy preliminary workbook.
Lex-Late Energy Expenditure Percent. The amount of Energy a horse has remaining beyond MED, the Kinetic Center of Distribution.
If you subtract your Med% number from 100 this will get you the Lex%. Adding Med% to Lex% will get you 100% (or very close).
Lex is a confirming factor when track or Matchup Bias indicates the probability of the winner being VERY SUSTAINED. (direct quote from the workbook.)
Some Keeneland Routes for the current meet are good examples.
